About the Project
After the devastating earthquake in Nepal, last semester we launched a campaign called Cornell For Nepal through which we raised money for relief and rescue. Now we are moving to phase two of our project, in which we want to raise money for long term rehabilitation. Our goal is to create awareness about the earthquakes in Nepal and solidify our intentions of making a long-term impact on the country by organizing an interacting exibition in Spring 2016.
"Seams: Nepal at the Fault Lines" follows the process of modernization in Nepal through changes in fashion and examines the aftermath of the 2015 earthquakes. The event will embody the interaction between fashion and social change as The Changing Room exhibit will showcase Nepali textiles, jewelry, art, and fashion.
This event is brought to you by Cornell's top pro-bono consulting group, Social Business Consulting and Nepal Association at Cornell.
