About the Project

This campaign pretend to rebuild a mountain lodge that has been completely destroyed by fire. The lodge had the capacity for ten people and had been equipped recently, it was built ten years ago by Association Bríbripa Kaneblo. This lodge had a high importance for conservation and productive uses.

The lodge was equipped with cookware, beds, bunk bed, mattresses, tents, work tools, as well as sanitary services and was expanded with other premises that are built to one side. It also has piping that supplies it with drinking water, was built of wood, sawed and zinc.

This shelter was used for control and patrolling visits coordinated with members of the protected area of 500 hectares of primary, secondary and regeneration forest, to avoid the extraction of plants and hunting of animals.

They are also used for camping and farming cacao, pejibayes, bananas, corn and beans.

Also, it was used for receiving visitors who want to know this forest where there is a great diversity of plants and animals, great natural beauty among them and waterfalls.

The first weekend of May 2017 was set on fire, which is under investigation by the relevant authorities.

The location of the Lodge is in Cerro Orko, between the communities of Puente and Yuavin in the indigenous territory of Salitre, three hours from Cultural Center Bríbripa Kanèblö
