About the Project
We are raising money in order to fund the final materials necessary to open our INLE Café. For the past two years national and UK volunteers from World Vision (Voluntarios con Visión) and Progressio ICS have been working in the small rural community of El Carrizal, enabling the local youth network to build, open and run their own sustainable community business. The INLE Café is situated on a main highway (from La Esperanza to Gracias, Copan, and then Guatemala and El Salvador) and will create 'an authentic flavour of our Lencan culture' to passersby, providing supplies to the local community as well as job opportunities for the young people involved.
100% of the money you donate will go towards the project. To give some context as to the necessity of this project, In Honduras, over 50% of the population are young people, and in rural areas over 60% of people live in extreme poverty (less than $1.25 a day). The money you donate will enable completion of the INLE Café, meaning that the local young people will have the opportunity to gain skills, employment and confidence, and be a part of a rapidly-growing local franchise of successful coffee shops.
